Elaine Huang is perfectly happy. She lives in Los Angeles, CA, working as an illustrator for projects of her choice. She regularly meets up with her bestie, Martha, usually at Musashi’s, their preferred venue. On one such visit, she answers a call from a persistent unknown number. The phone call changes her life, taking her halfway around the world to Sovereign Island where it brings her back into contact with some family secrets she has done her best to forget.
Can Elaine figure out why those secrets have come back to haunt her, while having to adapt to an unfamiliar environment on a ski resort in a foreign country?

Guest expectations, contracts with contractors, and, to top it all off, her parents, all try to throw a spanner in the works. Does she have what it takes to keep everyone happy? Can a skiing lesson with Quinton prove to be the turning point? And why is she having dreams she hasn’t dreamt for two decades?

Elaine tries to make sense of the dream which threatens to interfere with all the good work she has done at The Snowery while the vultures continue to circle. A visit to The Fountain Courtyard provides an unlikely source of relief to the goings-on at the resort, where staff are now leaving. However, where there’s Quinton, there’s always hope. That is until she receives a handwritten note which means the family secret isn’t as secure as she first thought. Can Elaine stop something that happened over twenty years ago from destroying The Snowery?
Book Five

Elaine tries to come to terms with the fact she’s having dreams of events she knows have happened, which are threatening the future of the resort. She has to delve into the past to see if there are any answers there. Meanwhile, in the present, her sister’s husband refuses to accept the truth, potentially jeopardising everything Jocelyne has built as well as the upcoming festival. Elaine turns to an unlikely source of advice and assistance: her parents.

In the gripping conclusion to Between The Snow And The Stars, Elaine needs to decide whether to stay on Sovereign Island or return to the States. Can she ensure the future of the resort as well as the future of her relationship with the man she has fallen in love with?
